The Wishing Me Well Foundation was created for the sole purpose of helping ease some of the many burdens that parents/caregivers and their families face and deal with from raising a special needs child.
My wife and I have a daughter that was born with many physical problems.
Since her birth , we have had to fight the goverment system and insurance companies for many
of the needs that she requires. It is a daunting task to say the least, and sometimes very discouraging, to the point that many parents give up the fight because they see no way to win the never ending battle.
Also many insurance companies and sometimes even medicaid will not provide some much needed help such
as nursing care, and some basic medical needs.
We, as parents of a severly handicapped child know this firsthand, we have been fighting these unjust standards since the birth of our daughter, and we feel that there should be a better system than the current one.
We know that W.M.W.F cannot change the current system but W.M.W.F wants to at least help make a differerence.
